Volunteering

Everybody has something to bring to Reuben's Retreat.

Volunteering

Reuben's Retreat is built on an army of love and compassionate hearts, and volunteers are absolutely integral to our work. We even have a name for our volunteers — they're called REUBeneers! We'd love for you to join our friendly team and help to make a difference. Volunteering also helps you develop skills, make new friends and have lots of fun.

Ways to volunteer

There are so many great ways to get involved, from attending awareness stands, helping at events, gardening, working in our Head Office or directly supporting families. Here are just a few:

Collection Pot Co-ordinator

Collect and deliver our collection pots from local businesses in the Glossop and Tameside area.

Events Volunteer

We have fantastic events all year round — tasks vary from fundraising stalls and bucket collections to selling raffle tickets, serving food, setting up props and stewarding.

Fundraising Group Member

Join a fundraising group to organise and plan fun events and activities that raise vital funds and awareness.

Family Support Volunteer

Help welcome families at our support groups — serving drinks, helping families and packing support parcels.

Volunteer Apartment Cleaner

Help prepare our 1-bedroom apartment to a hotel standard for families staying for short breaks.

Volunteer Driver

Help with transport so families can get to the Retreat, or so support packages can be delivered across the UK.
