In the mid-1970s, Wood's Hospital hosted a summer fete on its grounds. Jennifer Winder, who took part, recalls being a dancer with the Glossop Scottish Country Dancers at the time, wearing a white dress with a tartan sash.
“I remember a happy time dancing there on a beautiful summer's afternoon, whilst my children took part in a fancy-dress competition.”
The afternoon brought the community together for traditional Scottish country dancing and family activities — a lovely glimpse into the building's long history.
