Tracy's Story – Baby Loss Awareness

As part of Baby Loss Awareness Week, we shared Tracy's story — her experience of navigating grief and loss.

Tracy is a trustee for the charity and brings expertise in complex care and nursing to help shape our family support services. She is mum to three children who were lost — Brendan, Andrew, and a third child she lovingly calls ‘baby flump’ — and reflects on how October carries both joy and sorrow.

“I have learned to ride the waves of emotion and take the days as they come,” she says. She allows herself to grieve while also finding reasons to celebrate life, and became a children's nurse partly to advocate for parents like herself.

Tracy credits Reuben's Retreat with supporting her through her darkest moments, and now volunteers to help other bereaved families. She speaks of her daughter Mia as her ‘precious miracle’ and of her husband's support throughout her journey.
